A Day of hiking and a picnic lunch at Cape Split.
After two years of visiting Cape Split Rosanne and I are getting better at arranging the perfect day. We had more food, water, time and a bottle of wine. But our picnic lunch amounted to: 1 week old brown bread, quick packs of peanut butter scoffed from some breakfast table, raisinettes and local fruit. Plenty of food but not exactly the smoked fish, brie and fruit gourmet picnic we had imagined.
Ah well, maybe next year - besides you could hike Cape Split with a couple of Twinkies and a Coke and still have a great time!
My favorite moment of today. We just sat and listened...You could hear a loon diving for fish (but not see it), A flock of birds flew overhead,,,wings whistling and two ravens conversed across a cove in throaty phrases.
