Point of Interest, June 24
Working grist mill, run by NS Dept. of Education and culture. A really interesting education on the process of producing flour. Considering what a big role bread played in diet, this is a big part of strong bones and muscles.
A mill,designed by a millwright, took the riverbank and flow into the design specs to build the most design and labor efficient mill possible.
Most of the equipment,including the giant spur wheel are original and over120 years old.
