Photo of the Day for July 6
Double Photo
As we leave for Yarmouth we look over at the dikes of
Upper Clements to the Annapolis Basin, Port Royal,
and a thick bank of Bay of Fundy clouds. Until next year...

2nd Floor Landing
Sure it's a bad photo, but dig the ceiling height! This mansion
also served as a Boys' boarding school. The Queen Ann Inn must
have a few stories to tell. No ghosts, or we were too dead
to the world to sense any and we had a great night's sleep.

Here She Is with Morning On
Monday morning brought a roof construction crew
(see the lift just behind the umbrella tree on the right?).
This old mansion has its problems, the new
owner is seeing they get attended to ASAP.
I swear trees love this area. Just as impressive as the
estates on which they thrive.
They too are often on a grand scale.
Elms, chestnut, beech I wonder if there's a secret or the
people merely love to have them around.

Heading Home :(
We've got to eat this before we get to customs in Bar Harbor.
No foreign fruits or vegetables. Just a couple of road worn
human beans.

Reservation Line
Typed the wrong date in the palm pilot, if it's right,
then we should have been here yesterday. A tense wait
while the vehicles in front of us proceded through.
Do we get a few extra hours here? Good and Bad as our
mindset is now to make it home at a decent hour.
The verdict is....

We're In!
And the Cat is in too. Much smaller vessle than
the traditional ferry. Even the "stand-bys" got on.

Toast to Yarmouth
We pull away from the landing with grace and ease. Drink the half a
bottle we've been carrying around since Halifax - Can't take it home,
only memories and a bag of rocks. Good rocks.

Ambassador for the Cat
Oliver spotted us on the ride in- over 2 weeks ago. He had
recently purchased a red Miata. Guess what he does on his
days off? When on board he's Mr. Hospitality. See you next year.
PS Dave is only drinking water here! He should have worn his sunglasses, always a good photo when you wear them.

Beautiful Bar Harbor
Arrive in Maine and set the watch back to read 2:45 EST.
When we left on the 21st, there was nothing to see,
the fog was that dense. Not so today. Vacationland is living
up to its reputation.

Porcupine Islands
-Just some Maine Trivia. Someone thought they resembled
what most people see as road-kill. When seen from nearby
Cadillac Mtn., they look like floating green flapjacks.
Now Cadillac Mtn. is another matter, it is not named after
the cars that drive to its summit.
The last shot of the day, a long drive to NH (heavy sigh).
