Said our goodbys to our fellow B&B aquaintances who travelled from Florida to Newfoundland, Labrador, Nova Scotia - friends. Exchanged good rocks with David, he's travelled all over. Wind was blowing a gale. Cold air from Canada as Mom in Maine had predicted. Connected with the Camerons in Inverness and soon we were socializing in their Victorian kitchen. Tested our outdoor motivation on the newly built boardwalk along the shore. Scoped out the proposed site for a golf course. Just about froze, definetly not the day for a hill hike in Mabou.
Betty Anne had to tend to a family matter so Doug took us to the racetrack to see the ponys race. A local Sunday tradition, where many ''family pets'' pace or trot for a small purse. Sat through a couple of races before returning to the B&B for a warm place to read and nap.
The Camerons joined us at Heart of Harts for a gourmet meal. The evening guests gathered in the parlor for some music and lively conversation. Our friends were quite the resource for Scot-family name tales and Celtic music tips. A fun evening for all.
